TN/MS Enhanced Handgun Permit meets the requirements set by the state in order to obtain an enhanced handgun carry permit.  50 rounds of ammunition is required.

Course Overview

This official Tennessee Handgun Safety Course fulfills all requirements for the **Enhanced Handgun Carry Permit**, which allows individuals to carry a handgun **open or concealed** in Tennessee and in **36+ reciprocal states**. Completion of this course is required before filing a permit application with the state.

The class includes both classroom instruction and live-fire qualification, covering handgun safety, legal responsibilities, and shooting fundamentals.

Permit Application Process

Before attending class, students must: 

1. **Pre-register** with the TN Department of Safety & Homeland Security


2. Obtain an **Application Number** (required for class enrollment)


3. Bring a **valid TN driver’s license** and **government-issued ID** to class
